The International Agreement route is for individuals coming to the UK to perform work covered by international law or treaty obligations. This includes contractual service suppliers, independent professionals, employees of overseas governments or international organisations, and private domestic workers in diplomatic households.

Unlike the Skilled Worker route, the International Agreement visa does not lead to settlement in the UK, and the route is typically used for short-term assignments where the work falls outside the usual sponsorship categories.

To qualify, applicants must be sponsored by a licensed UK employer with an approved Certificate of Sponsorship, and the role must fall within one of the categories recognised under the Immigration Rules – Appendix Temporary Work – International Agreement Worker.
