Xinhui Lai is a trainee solicitor with a multidisciplinary background in both music and law. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, LLB from the University of Glasgow and LLM from the University of Strathclyde.

Before commencing her traineeship, Xinhui worked for six years as a Mandarin interpreter, with a particular focus on court work. This experience has given her a strong understanding of court procedure, evidential standards and the needs of clients navigating the justice system in a second language. She has also volunteered as a generalist adviser at Citizens Advice Bureau, assisting members of the public with a wide range of practical issues.

Xinhui combines her legal training with significant practical experience in communication, community support and client-facing work. Her background enables her to work effectively with clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, particularly Mandarin-speaking clients.
